Vice President of the Sovereignty Council Affirms the Need to Localize Liver Transplantation in Sudan

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Ayer, reviewed the activities and programs undertaken by the Sudanese Association for the Care and Localization of Liver Transplantation. He stressed the necessity of establishing partnerships with relevant entities to localize liver transplantation in Sudan.

During the meeting yesterday at his office in Port Sudan with the association's delegation led by Dr. Mohamed Sharif Mohamed Al-Hassan, he pledged to support the projects and activities implemented by the organization, particularly those aimed at enhancing liver health, as well as organ transplantation. He highlighted the need to include these services within health insurance, alongside building capacities in the field of transplantation and establishing a national fund for liver transplantation due to its high costs.

For his part, the President of the Liver Transplant Localization Association stated that the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council understood the role the association plays in localizing liver transplantation in Sudan and the activities and programs it has implemented during the war period. He noted that the Vice President also committed to supporting all current and future projects, especially those aimed at retaining medical staff, establishing resilience convoys, and other proposed programs.
