The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, is heading the delegation of the Republic of Sudan participating in the annual meetings of the African Development Bank Group. The events are kicking off in the Congolese capital, Brazzaville, with broad participation from African finance ministers and central bank governors, alongside representatives of international organizations and regional financing institutions.
During this session, the annual meetings are discussing a range of pivotal economic and strategic issues, foremost among which are ways and mechanisms to mobilize financial resources, attract smart investments to support sustainable development projects, and confront the structural and climate challenges affecting growth rates across the African continent.
At the start of the side meetings, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim affirmed Sudan's vision and steadfast position on the importance of strengthening and activating the role of national governments and official institutions in managing and directing developmental projects to guarantee efficiency and transparency. He emphasized the necessity of developing regional and international financing mechanisms and tools to become more flexible and responsive to the requirements of supporting emerging economies and countries undergoing exceptional circumstances, thereby contributing to achieving economic stability and social welfare for the peoples of the continent
