Gedaref – The University of Bahri Deans Council held its fifth meeting of 2024, conducted both virtually and in person at the university's coordination office in Gedaref. The meeting was chaired by the university's director, Professor Hatem Rahmatullah, with the participation of the vice-chancellor, university registrar, deans of faculties, and directors of various departments and centers.
Professor Hatem Rahmatullah briefed the council members on the establishment of external centers and the 19 recent agreements signed with internal universities, centers, and institutions, as well as 29 international agreements with countries including Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Belarus, and Turkey. These agreements focus on faculty and student exchange programs, as well as training opportunities for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students, along with non-academic staff training.
The council chair expressed gratitude and appreciation to all members and university affiliates for their contributions to the educational and administrative processes. He praised their resilience and dedication despite the complex challenges facing the country.
The council addressed several key issues, including a proposal from the Academic Affairs Secretariat regarding the academic calendar for the 2023-2024 academic year. However, the approval of this proposal was postponed to the next meeting due to differences in the academic schedules of various faculties.
Additionally, the council approved a proposal to amend the financial regulations for the Distance Learning Center and the university’s financial entitlements related to exams, grading, and supervision.
