Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Commander Malik Agar Ayer, held a meeting today in Port Sudan with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Muhammad Hassan Dahab, and several directors of Sudanese universities. The discussion focused on the current state and recent initiatives of Sudan’s higher education sector, including insights from the minister's recent diplomatic visit to Libya. Additionally, the delegation presented the Vice President with the final statement from the Education Forum held under his patronage on October 10.
Following the meeting, Professor Dahab provided a press statement highlighting that the delegation offered a comprehensive review of the ministry's recent performance, touching upon the activities and progress within Sudanese universities. Key recommendations from the Higher Education Initiative were also discussed as part of efforts to address the broader Sudanese crisis.
Professor Dahab also detailed his recent visit to Libya, undertaken at the invitation of the Libyan Minister of Higher Education. He emphasized that the visit successfully addressed critical concerns for Sudanese students in Libya, advancing cooperation and ensuring better support for Sudanese nationals pursuing their studies there. This diplomatic engagement marks a positive step in strengthening educational ties and enhancing resources for Sudanese students abroad.
