Sudanese Army Poised to Reclaim Strategic Border Town of Al-Karmak

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied battalions have seized the tactical initiative in the Blue Nile region, with the full recapture of the strategic border town of Al-Karmak now "imminent," according to the locality's governor, Abdel-Ati Mohamed Al-Faki.

Speaking on the latest field developments, Al-Faki asserted that government forces are on the verge of establishing total controlover the town which sits on the volatile border with Ethiopia within the next (48) hours.

The breakthrough follows a decisive offensive that repelled Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitaries from the key outlying areas of Al-Baraka, Khor Halabiya, and Khor Al-Qana.

On the humanitarian front, the governor highlighted successful coordination between local authorities and international aid agencies, which has enabled the sheltering of more than (15,000) internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the "Karama 3" camp, south of the regional capital, Damazin. While Al-Faki described the humanitarian situation as currently stable, he stressed the urgent need for scaled-up relief efforts over the town which sits on the volatile border with Ethiopia within the next (48) hours.
