Sudan Receives Invitation to Participate in the Upcoming Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference

The government received an invitation to participate in the upcoming Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference, scheduled to be held in November 2024 at the Sochi Resort in Russia. The invitation was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs from the Russian Ambassador on Monday.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali, and Ambassador Chernovil discussed the future of bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Russia across various sectors. Key topics included preparations for the upcoming conference, with invitations extended to Sudan’s Ministers of Finance and Economy, Energy, and Minerals, as well as the Director-General of the Intelligence Service.
During the meeting, the Russian Ambassador reiterated his country's intention to strengthen its relations with Sudan towards a strategic cooperation phase, focusing on establishing effective partnerships in the fields of energy, minerals, oil and gas, railways, and more.
The minister expressed Sudan's commitment to elevating the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly countries to the highest level of cooperation, noting the significant coordination and mutual support between the two nations in international forums. He also referred to his recent meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New York during the United Nations General Assembly.
