Several officials inspect the Prosthetics Center in Northern State and commend its level of services

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Northern State, Dr. Sati Hassan Sati, along with the Secretary General for Social Affairs, Ms. Manal Makawi Ibrahim, the Director General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development, Engineer Mohamed Sayed Ahmed Faqiri, the Executive Director of Dongola Locality, Dr. Makawi Al-Khair Al-Waqi’a, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance in the state, Major General Dr. Abdel Rahman Ahmed Faqiri, and other leaders, visited the Prosthetics Center in Dongola to review its operations and services. The delegation was briefed by the center’s director, Mr. Othman Hassan Othman, on the maintenance and rehabilitation work carried out in the prosthetics workshop and physical therapy hall, supported by the state’s Ministry of Health.


The delegation witnessed the fitting of the first prosthetic limb for one of the wounded from the Battle of Dignity. This was part of a partnership agreement between the center and the General Directorate of Medical Services of the Armed Forces. The agreement specifies that the Prosthetics Center will manufacture assistive devices for the wounded and injured, while the General Directorate provides the necessary raw materials.


Dr. Sati Hassan Sati, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Northern State, praised the efforts of the Prosthetics Center, highlighting its high-quality services for individuals with physical disabilities, as well as for the wounded and injured from the Battle of Dignity. He confirmed that additional equipment would be procured for the center in the near future, emphasizing the Ministry of Health’s role as a key partner in the center’s development.

Ms. Manal Makawi Ibrahim, Secretary General for Social Affairs, acknowledged that the center plays a vital role in providing specialized services to those with physical disabilities, especially in light of the country’s exceptional circumstances. She affirmed the Secretariat's commitment to cooperating with social work partners to enhance service quality and extended her appreciation to the Ministry of Health and the Zakat Chamber for their support of the center’s programs.


The Executive Director of Dongola Locality, Dr. Makawi Al-Khair Al-Waqi’a, praised the efforts of the Prosthetics Center’s management and highlighted its steady progress in fulfilling its objectives. He reiterated the locality’s support for the center’s ongoing initiatives.


Mr. Othman Hassan Othman, Director of the Prosthetics Center, expressed his gratitude to the visiting officials for their support and recognition of the center's efforts. He noted that the center had begun manufacturing prosthetics for the wounded and injured from the Battle of Dignity following the provision of raw materials by the General Directorate of Medical Services of the Armed Forces. He added that, in the near future, the center would expand its production to include prosthetics for civilians, as efforts are underway to secure additional raw materials. He expressed appreciation for the support from the Ministry of Health, the Secretariat for Social Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Zakat Chamber, and other sectors supporting the center’s plans and projects. He also mentioned the high praise the center had received from the former Governor of Northern State, Major General Hadi Bushra.
