The "Al-Amal (Hope) Committee for Voluntary Return" at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in joint cooperation and coordination with the Federal Zakat Chamber, discussed the final technical, administrative, and financial arrangements regarding the launch of voluntary return trips for 10,000 Sudanese citizens residing in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt who wish to return to the homeland.
The joint meeting, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, reviewed integrated logistical plans to secure and facilitate departure movements through land crossings and airports. Additionally, it defined the roles of partners and mechanisms for funding and providing travel tickets, enumeration expenses, and transport costs. The Zakat Chamber pledged to provide the necessary financial support and actively contribute to the success of this national humanitarian project, backing the returning families to guarantee their stability and meet their essential needs.
These intensive government movements and efforts come within the framework of the supreme care and profound attention that the state pays to the conditions of Sudanese citizens in neighboring and host countries. They align with strategic plans aimed at facilitating voluntary return procedures for targeted groups, carried out in high and continuous coordination with Egyptian authorities and diplomatic missions to simplify administrative and legal measures as well as travel documents, thereby preserving the safety and dignity of the citizens
