Representative of the Governor of Al-Jazeera Inspects the Conditions of Displaced Persons from Eastern Al-Jazeera to Shendi

The Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Mr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar Sheikh, along with the Local Security Committee and the Higher Committee for Emergency and Support, received Engineer Abubakar Abdullah Mohamed, representative of the Governor of Al-Jazeera and Minister of Infrastructure.


During his visit, the minister reviewed the overall humanitarian conditions of the displaced persons from the villages of Al-Jazeera State. He expressed gratitude to the official and popular entities that hosted large numbers of displaced persons coming from Al-Jazeera State, emphasizing the importance of providing their needs and support.

The minister highlighted that the support and hospitality extended by the people of Shendi exemplify Sudanese generosity, sending a message of national unity to the world. He also assured that the armed forces are working hard in Al-Jazeera State to defeat the rebel militias.


He called for readiness for the upcoming phase, which involves reconstruction and development. For his part, the Executive Director of Shendi Locality stated that the locality has opened its doors to host more than 30,000 displaced families from the villages of Al-Jazeera, stressing that the local government stands with the people of Al-Jazeera, providing all types of support and ensuring essential services.

He added that a field hospital is actively providing services to the displaced, and several local hospitals have been designated to treat incoming patients. Members of the Higher Committee for Emergency and Support also expressed their readiness to host families from across Al-Jazeera State, affirming their commitment to addressing all their needs.
