The Governor of the Gezira Scheme reported that the meeting focused on current needs related to irrigation issues, the removal of weeds and silt, and securing funding for essential agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and seeds. These efforts will be coordinated with the Ministries of Irrigation and Finance, as well as the Agricultural Bank. Additionally, there are plans to secure fuel through the Ministry of Oil and government companies operating in the fuel sector to prepare for the winter cropping season.

The Governor also announced the success of the summer crop, highlighting high productivity in Gezira State and other regions, with a cultivated area reaching 560,000 acres. This achievement contradicts claims predicting famine in Sudan. Mustafa reassured farmers in Gezira that the management of the scheme is doing its utmost, in coordination with the Sovereignty Council and relevant authorities, to provide all necessary inputs for the winter agricultural season, aiming to cultivate approximately 350,000 acres of wheat. He expressed gratitude to the farmers for their dedication and resilience amid challenges, commending the significant role of the Armed Forces in ensuring security throughout all stages of the production process.
