The Governor of Khartoum, Mr. Ahmed Osman Hamza, affirmed that the role played by Sudanese media figures, both inside and outside the country, is a national epic that is no less than that of arms in the existential battle being waged by all regular forces, supported by the people of Sudan.
In a meeting with the General Union of Sudanese Journalists, led by Secretary-General Mohamed Al-Fateh Ahmed, and representatives from Sudanese Lights publication, including Abed Said Ahmed and Ahmed Omar Khogali, the governor commended the Union's initiatives. He highlighted the Union’s work in African and Arab international media unions to expose the severe challenges facing Sudan, including threats to the people’s lives, property, and well-being through violence, displacement, and abuse.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the General Union of Sudanese Journalists expressed the Union’s appreciation for the resilience of the Khartoum Governor, his presence among the citizens, and his earnest efforts to provide services, affirming that the Union’s members stand with the Khartoum Governor to help him steer the state through the current period.
In this context, the Khartoum Governor provided statements to Sudanese Lights about the efforts made by the state to manage services amid financial shortages and the loss of its financial resources.
The governor also discussed the large-scale campaigns conducted by the state to curb security breaches and confront negative phenomena, noting that the efforts made have led to a decline in crime and the arrest of criminals.
