The Sudanese Foreign Minister Ambassador/ Hussein Awad Ali, affirmed that the rebel militia's statements regarding an agreement with international parties to use airports in Darfur are nothing but wishful thinking and daydreams.

He explained that entering airspace and using airports is subject to strict international laws and aviation security regulations, emphasizing that no country or international organization would risk endangering its aircraft and pilots by violating these rules.


Hassan pointed out that there are seven available crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid, in addition to the Adre crossing. He explained that the opening of this crossing was done according to specific controls and known commitments from all parties. He stressed that if there is any proven violation of these controls and commitments, the Sudanese government will take a different stance.


Awad also criticized the statement issued by the Geneva partners, considering it to be unrealistically optimistic about the promises made by the rebel militia, which they quickly backtracked on after shelling the Abu Shouk camp for the displaced, resulting in the death and injury of more than 65 displaced persons.


He affirmed that the Sudanese government is ready to cooperate if the United States is serious about implementing the Jeddah Declaration.
