Chief Justice of Sudan Inaugurates the Supreme National Court in Al-Qadarif

Al-Qadarif – Chief Justice of Sudan, Mr. Abdulaziz Fath al-Rahman, along with the acting governor of Al-Qadarif, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, inaugurated the Supreme National Court for Al-Qadarif today in the presence of several leaders in the judicial sector and state officials.
Mr. Abdulmonim Ismail, Head of the Judicial Authority in the state, explained that the court's establishment comes in implementing a decision by the Chief Justice to establish court branches in the states to address the challenges posed by the ongoing war. He praised the state government for providing a venue for the court, which he described as a significant addition to the judicial work.
In turn, Mr. Hamad Al-Nil Al-Amin, Head of the Court, outlined the court's responsibilities and jurisdictions, which include reviewing civil, criminal, and sharia appeals, as well as verifying and upholding sentences of death and imprisonment in Al-Qadarif and Al-Jazirah states. He emphasized that the court aims to reduce administrative delays.
The acting governor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, welcomed the Chief Justice and his delegation, highlighting that their visit coincided with the recent military successes of the armed forces against rebel factions. He stressed that the court would be a vital institution for those seeking justice and the restoration of their rights. Additionally, he noted that the court's establishment represents a practical step toward decentralization, ensuring essential services are provided in the aftermath of the war. He also announced the allocation of land for the construction of a permanent facility for the Supreme National Court in Al-Qadarif, replacing the temporary premises.
The Chief Justice commended the victories of the Sudanese army and highlighted the importance of enhancing security as a cornerstone of justice. He stated that the war has underscored the need for establishing courts in the states in collaboration with their governments, as those seeking justice will perceive the benefits of having these courts. He praised the cooperation of the state government in establishing the Supreme National Court and its contribution to initiating steps toward constructing a facility that will enhance the judicial framework and justice in Al-Qadarif.
