Abu Ali calls for incorporating the values of peaceful coexistence in school curricula

The head of the Popular Movement for Eastern Sudan, Mohamed Ali Abu Ali, has called for the inclusion of national education in school curricula, emphasizing the importance of instilling values of peaceful coexistence and rejecting hate speech in the minds of future generations, while also denouncing narrow-minded regionalism and tribalism.

He mentioned that the Popular Movement’s initiative was launched in September 2022 due to the tribal conflicts that took place in eastern Sudan, resulting in many casualties and leaving deep grievances among people.

Abu Ali also revealed that four workshops on peaceful coexistence and rejecting hate speech were held in collaboration with the Sahel Organization, covering the neighborhoods of Deem Arab, Dar Al-Salam, Dar Al-Naeem, and Umm Al-Qura. These seminars aimed to bring together the different tribal components of the state to foster mutual understanding and eliminate old grudges.
