A former militia leader: The Framework Agreement is a pretext for war

Nawai Ismail Al-Daw, the strategic advisor and head of the supreme advisory council of the rebel militia, who has served as an advisor for almost two years, stated that the political process known as the Framework Agreement is merely a pretext for the war, driven by the efforts of the political wing of the Forces of Freedom and Change to hijack the Sudanese state in coordination with several countries.

During a press conference today at Al-Rabwa Hotel in Port Sudan, he added that the war has hindered the return to comprehensive peace, which was called for by the 2019 revolution and agreed upon in the Juba Peace Agreement. He pointed out that Hemedti, the leader of the militia, is fighting from a false reality and with unachievable ideas. He also noted that, despite agreements signed with the movements of Abdul Aziz Al-Hilu and Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour, these groups have imposed severe restrictions on the people. Sudanese efforts were underway to bring back young people to the nation's fold and abandon the militia, facilitated by an amnesty issued by the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council. He stressed that without peace, it will be impossible to conduct.
