Dr. Hebat Abbas, the Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Gadaref, confirmed the organization's continued provision of essential healthcare services through seven clinics in Gadaref State. These clinics include the Ma'asir, Salamat Al-Bay, and Deme Al-Nour centers, along with the Solidarity Center and Haj Hassan Institute, primarily serving the displaced individuals in Gadaref Municipality, as well as Abu Rakhm in the Al-Mafaza locality, Um Galja Center in Central Gadaref locality, and Al-Hawata Rural Hospital.
She explained that these services aim to improve the quality of life and ensure access to essential healthcare services for all community members. She also highlighted the plans in place by the organization to expand the services offered in the clinics, including the addition of the Gadaref Teaching Hospital among the service-providing institutions at the beginning of next year.
Dr. Hebat emphasized that the services offered by the clinics play a vital role in strengthening the local healthcare system. This is achieved by providing essential medical equipment, supplies, and training for healthcare workers. She encouraged community members to make full use of these services as part of ongoing efforts to improve public health.
In conclusion, she mentioned several ongoing activities and programs supported by the organization, which include a campaign to combat disease vectors in seven localities in the state, monitoring drinking water quality, providing cholera medication supplies, and various training programs to enhance the capabilities of the workforce.
