A report issued by the Khartoum State Ministry of Health has revealed the massive scale of destruction inflicted upon the health sector due to the ongoing war.
The report confirms that 75% of the state's hospitals and health facilities are now completely out of service.
The report details that the material losses incurred by the health sector—including the destruction of infrastructure and the looting of medical equipment and medicines—are estimated at approximately $12 billion.
The Ministry noted that this catastrophic situation threatens the lives of millions of citizens, given the acute scarcity of medical supplies and the difficulty in accessing the few remaining facilities, which are currently operating at maximum capacity.
These figures underscore the severity of the humanitarian and health crisis gripping the Sudanese capital, amidst urgent calls for international organizations to intervene and salvage what remains.
