Member of the Sovereignty Council, Naval Engineer Major General Ibrahim Jaber, Inspects the Italian Emergency Children's Hospital

The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Naval Engineer and Consultant Major General Ibrahim Jaber, pledged to provide support and facilitate multi-entry visas for the staff consistently offering services to Sudanese citizens. During his visit today to the Italian Children's Emergency Hospital in Port Sudan, he stated that the government is committed to ensuring the necessary resources for Italian emergency institutions to continue providing their services to target populations across different cities in Sudan.

Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim noted that the Sovereignty Council member toured the hospital’s departments and witnessed the extensive work carried out by the organization in the Red Sea State. He also received a report on the organization's programs in Sudan, which include the opening of new clinics and centers in Nyala and Atbara, with plans to establish five more in Kassala, Gedaref, and Kosti, all offering free services to children.

The Minister added that the member of the Sovereignty Council was briefed on some of the challenges faced by the Italian organization in areas controlled by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Darfur and Khartoum, particularly to procedural issues and the delivery of medical supplies. He stressed that the Sudanese government will work with partners to facilitate the organization's mission and secure funding to open additional centers and expand services.

It is worth noting that Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim and the Governor of the Red Sea State, Major General Mustafa Mohammed Nour, accompanied the member of the Sovereignty Council during his visit to the hospital.
