The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to maximize the country's resources to enhance revenue by upgrading primary exports to industrial exports. This directive came during his meeting today with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Engineer Mahasin Ali Yaqoub. During the meeting, Jaber was briefed on the performance of the Ministries of Industry and Trade, along with reviews across various sectors. He was also updated on the recovery in the food industries and construction material factories, which have played a key role in reducing imports through local production.
In a press statement, the Minister of Industry reported that the industrial sector is experiencing increased production capacity, with many factories resuming production and others under construction to meet the demands of the upcoming reconstruction phase. She added that the ministry has begun implementing the recommendations from the recent industrial conference, which were approved by the Cabinet. These steps have helped resolve numerous challenges and led to significant growth in various industrial sectors, along with the influx of new industrial investments.
Additionally, the Minister of Industry informed Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber about the measures taken regarding the regulation of exports and imports, focusing on export-import controls to enhance the commercial sector, streamline exports, and ensure foreign exchange revenues are deposited into the public treasury.
