Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, detailed the atrocities and violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia against the Sudanese people during a meeting today with representatives of the American Fok Bo Foundation, Mr. Gavin Andrew and Mr. Christopher Charles. The meeting, held at his office, was also attended by the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim.
Jaber highlighted that the militia has destroyed many of the country's vital systems, particularly health institutions and electrical facilities, and obstructed the delivery of humanitarian aid to some states controlled by the militia. He informed the American delegation about all the measures and steps taken by the Sudanese government to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, including the facilitations provided through various crossings. He also detailed the extent of the aid the government has granted to organizations and supporting entities, including visas and travel permits, to ensure humanitarian services reach those affected by the war in various areas.
For his part, the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that the American delegation expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made by the Sudanese government in assisting with the delivery of humanitarian aid. He pointed out that the delegation showed great understanding of the nature of the war in Sudan and the conditions in areas controlled by the armed forces, as well as the crises and suffering of citizens in militia-controlled regions. Dr. Haitham also shared that the delegation pledged to continue advocating for support for the Sudanese people and peace in Sudan through international platforms, American forums, and organizations. Additionally, they promised to implement key projects related to supply chains and the health system, with plans to begin reconstruction and rehabilitation of hospitals in cooperation with partners from the Fok Bo Foundation.
