The Acting Governor of Al-Qadarif, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, met today in his office with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross for the East Sudan mission, headed by Ms. Nancy Hamad. The meeting was attended by several officials from the state government.
During the meeting, various activities and programs that the Red Cross has implemented in the state were discussed. These included the provision of health services, food assistance for children, and support for the prosthetics center, which was recently handed over to the state's prosthetic authority. Additionally, they explored the activities that the Red Cross intends to implement in the upcoming phase.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam welcomed the delegation and commended the valuable contributions of the International Committee of the Red Cross in providing aid to refugees, displaced persons, and communities in war zones, as well as in areas affected by disasters and emergencies. He emphasized the importance of continuing interventions in essential service sectors within the state, particularly to alleviate the pressure on services resulting from the exceptional circumstances caused by the war, which has led to a significant influx of displaced persons from other states into Al-Qadarif.
Ms. Nancy Hamad reaffirmed the continuation of the Red Cross programs and activities in the state and collaboration with the state government to implement targeted humanitarian initiatives. She also announced that the Red Cross has donated an ambulance to Al-Faw Hospital as part of their ongoing support.
