The Secretary-General of the Khartoum State Government, Mr. Al-Hadi Abdel-Sayed, urged the Tax Bureau to balance the importance of resources for funding services with understanding the economic conditions faced by business owners due to the war, which led to the loss of many assets, to avoid negatively impacting citizens.
This came during his meeting today in his office with the Director of the Tax Bureau in Khartoum State, Ms. Afaf Abdelghani, in the presence of the Director-General of the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General reviewed the Tax Bureau’s recent performance and acknowledged its efforts in tax collection. He commended the bureau's work and reiterated the state’s support by pledging to provide a favorable work environment and necessary resources.
Ms. Afaf Abdelghani, in response, confirmed that the bureau is committed to simplifying procedures and considering taxpayers’ economic situations. She noted that tax collection is proceeding according to the 2023 budget plan, with no planned increases for 2024 as directed by the state government, ensuring no additional financial burdens on business owners.
