The Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare, Dr. Abdelkader Abdullah Abu, renewed the commitment to continue working under all circumstances and ensure education persists, praising the application of national education in Comboni Schools.
Speaking at the celebration of the Day of the Girl, Dr. Abdelkader noted that the event aligns with United Nations initiatives and is observed with organizations like UNICEF to counter harmful practices and foster values of peace, compassion, and love—principles endorsed by all religions. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Social Development, the Red Sea State Child Welfare Council, international partners, and civil society organizations, highlighting the importance of protecting children across Sudan.
During the celebration, Dr. Abdelkader highlighted that the council works with the 24 million children in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of instilling national education, as witnessed by the students of Comboni Schools singing the national anthem. He linked this to the comprehensive national strategy for child welfare for 2024-2030, which aligns with the cabinet’s decision number 92.
He also noted the council's efforts to reshape the national education curriculum in schools for a safe and stable Sudan. The council’s school visits aim to ensure the application of national education, with the celebration of the Day of the Girl serving as an indicator of Sudan's commitment, as a UN member state, to the well-being of girls, who play a vital role in raising future generations. He expressed gratitude to the administration of Comboni Schools and all partners working toward a safe childhood.
