Merowe Locality Begins Preparations for the Winter Agricultural Season

The Executive Director of Merowe Locality, Mr. Mahjoub Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, issued an administrative decision to form the Supreme Committee for the success of the winter agricultural season.

The committee is headed by the Executive Director of the locality and includes members from the agricultural administration, administrative units, agricultural projects, agricultural banks, and several relevant authorities and security bodies.

Acting Executive Director of the locality, Ms. Somaya Hussein, chaired the committee's first meeting.

The Acting Director of Agriculture in the locality, Eng. Ahmed Hassan Mohi El-Din, explained that the meeting discussed the targeted area for the 2024-2025 winter agricultural season in the locality, which is 24,634 feddans, as well as the challenges and obstacles facing the season.

The meeting also covered the financial policies of the agricultural banks and the funding directives for the season, including preparations and inputs such as fertilizers and seeds.

He highlighted the organization of awareness campaigns for farmers and the mobilization of all official and community efforts to ensure the success of the season.
