On Thursday, October 3rd, a training workshop on strategic planning during crises and emergencies was launched in Port Sudan. The workshop was led by Professor Mohamed Hussein Suleiman Abusalih via video conference and attended by the Director of the National Health Insurance Fund, state branch directors, and financing partners. The workshop serves as a preparatory step for developing a strategic plan for 2025 to 2027, under the theme "Recovery, Building, Development."
Dr. Fadel Kamel Al-Doudou, Director of the National Health Insurance Fund for South Kordofan, explained that the insurance sector has been working on a three-year strategic plan to achieve its mission and vision, analyzing data to identify and address weaknesses. He noted that while the 2024 plan is nearing its end, efforts are underway to create a strong, adaptable plan. He emphasized that the National Health Insurance Fund has set up an emergency plan and is gradually recovering in the state and its provinces.
He announced that the branch is preparing to hold a training workshop on analyzing the current situation and its impact on the crisis, the steps taken, and the challenges facing insurance in pharmaceutical supply and financing, urging institutions and partners to participate in the plan's development.
Meanwhile, Sister Batoul Suleiman Al-Doud, Director-General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, emphasized the importance of the strategic plan in facilitating service delivery to citizens. She stated that insurance is progressing steadily despite the challenges and circumstances surrounding the country, adding that the continuity of services is linked to financing to address current changes. She affirmed that the upcoming operational plan should be based on accurate and real information to strengthen the health system, highlighting the need to expand services in hospitals and centers and improve the working environment for medical staff and quality to meet the aspirations of the state's citizens.
