Khartoum – The Ministry of Health in Khartoum State has launched the second expanded response campaign for the Greater Bahri area. The campaign was inaugurated by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qaim, Director General of the Ministry of Health, and includes mobile clinics, specialist clinics in obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, psychiatric and neurological diseases, general surgery, and cardiac surgery, along with general practitioners. It also involves epidemic control measures, such as spraying and distributing mosquito nets.

The campaign further includes public health lectures aimed at raising awareness on disease prevention, medical waste disposal, and general waste management.

Speaking at the campaign’s launch from the Al-Zakiab Health Center, Dr. Al-Qaim explained that this is the fourth campaign and represents a major preventive effort. It focuses on spraying disease vectors, chlorinating drinking water, providing primary healthcare, vaccinating children, and offering specialized clinics. Free health check-ups for patients are also part of the campaign, along with evaluations of healthcare institutions, preparation of additional centers, and operation of a dialysis center. He stressed that the ministry is not waiting for the return of public electricity and has already activated generators at health centers.
