Governor of River Nile Meets with Maamoun Al-Birair Group of Companies

Al-Damer – Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abu Qorun, the Governor of River Nile, confirmed their welcome for serious national investment. This came during his meeting with the delegation of Maamoun Al-Birair Group of Companies, headed by Mr. Mohamed Saud Maamoun Al-Birair, with the presence and participation of Mr. Othman Abdel-Rahim Amara, Minister of Investment, Industry, Mining, Tourism, and Quarries in the state.


The Governor welcomed the group’s delegation and their interest in investing in the state, confirming that the presence of Maamoun Al-Birair Group represents a significant addition to the state. He pointed out that the state has become an investment destination due to its advantages as an economic state with agricultural, industrial, mining, and tourism significance. He announced that the state is focusing on exports by preparing export infrastructure, such as expanding and developing Atbara Airport to accommodate the movement of exports and imports, as well as expanding and developing the dry port in Atbara for the same purpose and establishing cold and dry storage facilities.


For his part, Mr. Othman Abdel-Rahim Amara, the Minister of Investment, Industry, Mining, Tourism, and Quarries in the state, warmly welcomed Maamoun Al-Birair Group, considering it one of the major and pioneering national companies with a significant contribution to the national economy and the country’s development journey. Mr. Amara stated that the state welcomes serious investment and has initiated the simplification and facilitation of investment procedures, working under the one-stop-shop system to attract capital and investment to the state. Mr. Mohamed Saud Maamoun Al-Birair expressed his gratitude to the Governor and Minister for their support and approved investment plans. He conveyed the company’s commitment to establishing food product factories, with a focus on processing industries in Al-Damer and Berber localities, pledging to contribute to the state’s development. He praised the state's investment-friendly environment and swift procedures, recognizing the state's rich resources and the importance of investment as a driver of economic growth and development.
