Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forests Inspects Improved Seed Samples at the Arab Seed Production Company in Gedaref State

Dr. Abubakar Omar Al-Bushri, the Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forests, along with Engineer Jaber Babikr Suleiman, the representative of the Governor of Gedaref and Director-General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development, and Engineer Ammar Abdullah Suleiman, the Director-General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, along with several officials, visited the Arab Seed Production Company in Gedaref. They inspected samples of improved seeds produced by the company, which include maize, sesame, sunflower, hibiscus, and okra.

The minister emphasized that the produced seeds contribute to localizing seed production in the country, aligning with the state's plans to achieve this goal. He noted that these seeds also work to increase the productivity of cultivated land.

For his part, the Director-General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in the state explained that the ministry has allocated significant areas for demonstration fields aimed at applying research experiments to educate producers and encourage them to adopt modern technologies that enhance production and productivity, addressing agricultural challenges by focusing on the use of improved seeds.
