Council of Ministers Affirms Its Support for ILO Programs in the Country

Othman Hussein, Acting Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Acting Prime Minister, affirmed his support for the programs of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in the country, especially as the upcoming phase requires strengthening labor foundations and enhancing workers' capacities to rebuild what has been destroyed by the war of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.

During his meeting with the ILO delegation, led by Country Director Kamboula Ndaba, Othman Hussein emphasized the importance of the organization’s work in Sudan. He particularly highlighted the significance of opening an ILO office in Port Sudan and noted the value of the organization’s plans and programs directed toward the country.

The Acting Minister expressed his hope that the organization will succeed in its programs and that the country will benefit from these initiatives, particularly in rebuilding what the war has destroyed.

The delegation, led by Kamboula Ndaba, the ILO Country Director, concluded its visit today, which included meetings, workshops, and discussions with the three work partners: the Workers' Unions, the Employers' Association, and the government, represented by the Ministry of Labour and Administrative Reform.

During the visit, meetings were held with the Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar, the Acting Prime Minister, and several other state officials.
