The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Muhyiddin Naim Mohamed Said, highlighted Sudan’s investment opportunities in the fields of oil, natural gas, and electricity, affirming that Sudan is open to all investors interested in these sectors. His remarks were made during a meeting today with Turkish Ambassador Fatih Yıldız and members of the Turkish embassy.

The minister stated that Sudan offers significant investment opportunities in the electricity sector, particularly following the amendment of the electricity investment law, which now allows the private sector to operate in electricity generation, especially in solar and wind energy.

In response, Ambassador Fatih Yıldız expressed Turkey's interest in investing in Sudan’s electricity, natural gas, oil, and pipelines, aiming to move from project-based to strategic cooperation. He outlined Turkey’s extensive experience in these fields and expressed strong interest in entering the Sudanese market, particularly in electricity and natural gas. He emphasized that Turkey has large strategic plans for investing in Sudan, covering sectors such as electricity, oil, and natural gas, and confirmed his commitment to coordinating efforts with Turkish companies and experts in these fields. He also mentioned plans for exchange visits between the two countries to ensure full cooperation.

Ambassador Yıldız also noted the depth of Sudanese-Turkish relations and the long-standing cooperation between the two countries, especially in energy. He noted that recent cooperation in Darfur and the presence of the Turkish barge in Port Sudan have strengthened these ties, and Turkey is looking to expand its investments in Sudan in various types of electricity generation, distribution, and renewable energy, as well as natural gas and minerals. He expressed optimism that cooperation would increase further after the war's end, with the goal of maximizing mutual benefits for both countries.
