The Sudanese government has agreed to open Kassala, Dongola, and El-Obeid airports, in addition to Kadugli Airport, which was agreed upon between the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and the President of South Sudan.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to providing all necessary facilities to ensure the smooth flow of humanitarian aid and to make every effort to deliver assistance to those in need across the country.
With this, there are now 6 airports available for international organizations, along with 7 land crossings that were previously approved.
Notably, coordination is already underway to begin airlifting humanitarian aid to South Kordofan via Juba Airport to Kadugli Airport. By doing so, the Sudanese government has met all the requirements for facilitating the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid by air, land, and sea.
These decisions reflect the government's responsibility and determination to alleviate the suffering of its citizens. The government also calls on the international community to meet its obligations in providing material and financial aid and to exert pressure on the rebels to cease their inhumane actions, such as detaining aid workers and besieging or shelling civilians, which has persisted for a third consecutive month in El-Fasher and other cities across Sudan.
