The Northern Traffic Police Department completes its preparations to celebrate White Cane Day

The Northern State Traffic Police Department has completed its preparations to celebrate White Cane Day, in smart partnership with the State Disability Council and the Blind Union, Northern State branch. The celebration will take place tomorrow and the day after, under the slogan "Your awareness lights my path / Together we break barriers."

Colonel Abdel Nasser Hassan Ahmed, the Director of the Northern State Traffic Police Department, congratulated visually impaired individuals on this occasion and confirmed that the Traffic Department has been celebrating White Cane Day annually on October 15th. He emphasized that the goal of the celebration is to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and raise awareness about their rights, particularly regarding the use of the five marks.

The celebration program will feature various cultural and awareness events at transportation hubs, markets, and educational institutions. A cultural evening showcasing the talents and creativity of visually impaired individuals will take place at the "Awareness" center, affiliated with the Disability Council, tomorrow evening. Additionally, a workshop on the legal and civil rights of people with disabilities is scheduled for the day after tomorrow at the Popular Police Hall in Dongola.


The workshop targets judicial, police, and security bodies, civil society organizations, and all entities concerned with disability issues, with several scientific papers to be presented.
