The Minister of Production and Economic Resources in North Kordofan reveals the start of harvesting agricultural crops.

El Obeid - Engineer Ibrahim Hamid Mohamed, Acting Minister of Production and Economic Resources in North Kordofan, revealed the start of harvesting agricultural crops, especially cash crops like sesame and peanuts. He added that the plan for sesame cultivation was 1.75 million acres, while the plan for peanuts was 560,000 acres.

The minister highlighted that this year’s agricultural season has been exceptionally successful due to favorable conditions, including high rainfall levels and thorough preparation of agricultural lands in the state. He also noted the absence of pests, with no reports of infestations during the season.

Hamid explained that the involvement of small farmers in the home-based "Jabraka" project contributed to filling the food gap and providing financial assistance to families. He noted the completion of the agricultural survey for this year, with reports expected to be prepared in the coming period, in cooperation with some organizations working in the agricultural sector.

The minister added that his ministry has developed plans for the post-war period, in cooperation with stakeholders in the agricultural sector, focusing on rehabilitating natural resources and developing projects that will contribute to the national economy.
