The Commissioner of the Humanitarian Aid Commission in Northern State, Dr. Abdel Rahman Ali Khairi, commended the efforts of both international and national organizations in addressing the humanitarian and health needs of the state. During a meeting with representatives from the Italian NGO SSOI at his office, he emphasized the critical role these organizations play, especially in the context of ongoing war, displacement, and the process of returning displaced individuals. He also stressed the importance of coordination between the organizations and the commission to ensure the delivery of optimal humanitarian and health services.

Mohamed Mahmoud Bilal, Assistant Director-General of the Italian NGO SSOI, provided an overview of the organization’s work and its potential contributions in the coming period. He informed the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner that following the meeting, SSOI would embark on a field tour to assess the current humanitarian and health situation in Northern State.

Bilal further explained that the organization is in the process of identifying both urgent and long-term needs, which will be determined after the completion of a field survey and assessment. He added that SSOI’s interventions will focus on the humanitarian and health sectors, with the field tour covering shelters, displaced persons' centers, and consultations with the Ministries of Education, Health, and the Secretariat for Social Affairs.
