Sudanese Red Crescent Society and Turkish Red Crescent Started to Distribute Food Aid to Displaced Persons in Al-Obeid, North Kordofan

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society in North Kordofan has initiated the distribution of food aid for displaced persons at the unified shelter center in the city of Al-Obeid, in partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent.
Mr. Mohamed Habib Al-Taher, Executive Director of the Sudanese Red Crescent in North Kordofan, stated that the project aims to distribute food aid to 2,810 families across various shelters in Al-Obeid, with the launch event held at the unified center for displaced persons. He highlighted the collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent and emphasized that the Red Crescent Society in the state has established partnerships with various organizations to implement several community programs, including first aid training. He assured that society will continue to provide essential services during both peace and war.
Ms. Masra Al-Imam, Director of the Social Welfare Department in North Kordofan, commended the substantial efforts made by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, North Kordofan branch, and the distinguished partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent in distributing food baskets to displaced persons at the shelter center and the targeted families across the state. She noted that North Kordofan has received a large influx of displaced persons since the outbreak of the war, necessitating significant interventions from various organizations. She further mentioned that the Social Welfare Department is closely coordinating with all organizations and initiatives operating in Al-Obeid.
In the same context, Mr. Hisham Al-Abid, representative of the Secretary-General of the North Kordofan State Government, expressed gratitude to the Turkish Red Crescent for its continued collaboration with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, North Kordofan branch, in providing humanitarian services to the population. He emphasized the critical role of humanitarian efforts in alleviating the impact of war and called on organizations and initiatives to increase support and services to meet the urgent needs of displaced persons in the shelters.
