Roads and Bridges Authority: Infrastructure was systematically destroyed by the Rapid Support Militia

Engineer Mukhtar Omar Saber, Director General of the Roads and Bridges Authority and Water Drains in Khartoum State, confirmed that the authority is working diligently to facilitate traffic and ensure the delivery of goods and humanitarian aid to Bahri city. During his inspection today of the damage inflicted on the Halfaya Bridge by the Rapid Support Militia, he noted that the southern lane had been subjected to systematic destruction and blatant aggression against the infrastructure—a clear crime that speaks for itself.

Regarding the bridge's repair, he mentioned that the authority will implement urgent measures to ensure smooth traffic through the northern lane. He added that the bridge, designed for heavy loads, serves as a critical link in the ring road connecting the three cities and major international routes, including Khartoum-Arqin-Cairo and Khartoum-Port Sudan. This infrastructure plays a key role in bolstering the national economy.

He also congratulated the armed forces for their exemplary sacrifices in defending the land and honor, assuring citizens that the authority will not delay in providing services and repairing roads in accordance with the directives of the Governor of Khartoum State, Mr. Ahmed Othman Hamza, and as part of the safe return program for Khartoum residents. Promising good news to come.
