Qatar Red Crescent Distributes Aid to Those Affected at Port Center in Port Sudan

Mr. Ali Mohamed Al-Amin, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid in the Red Sea, participated in the distribution of food items from the Qatar Red Crescent at Port Center (A), sufficient for 811 individuals affected by the war, along with distributing health supplies at the Red Sea Center to cover the needs of 1,020 affected individuals.


The distribution program was attended by the supply officer and the monitoring and evaluation coordinator from the Qatar Red Crescent's main office in Doha.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Red Crescent for its ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the war since its outbreak, highlighting their significant contributions across various sectors, including food, shelter, and health.

The Commissioner praised the contents of the health and food baskets, confirming that they are adequate for families and meet their needs during this period. He called for increased support for the affected individuals and host families in the upcoming phase.

Dr. Salah Dakkah, the country director of the Qatar Red Crescent Office in Sudan, noted that this aid continues the support provided to those affected since the war began. He mentioned that last month, food supplies were distributed in Dongola, Marawi, Al-Qadarif, and Jubait to assist people impacted by floods and rains in Tokar.

He confirmed that the Qatar Red Crescent will continue its support across all sectors, including health, water, shelter, and food security.


The Sudan office director thanked the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid for participating in the distribution of these materials and for the facilities provided by the commission to facilitate the delivery of assistance.
