National Committee Presents Crimes by Rebel Militia to African Peace Council, Showcases Documentary Video and Criminal Case Statistics

The National Committee for Investigating Crimes and Violations of National and International Humanitarian Law, chaired by the Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan, Mawlana Al-Fateh Muhammad Issa Tayfour, provided a detailed presentation on the crimes and violations committed during the war by rebel militias. This presentation included statistics on the criminal cases registered with the Public Prosecution and those that have been referred to the courts.

In addition to presenting the violations, the meeting addressed the National Committee's observations on the report produced by the fact-finding committee established by the Human Rights Council. The Attorney General criticized the report, stating that it exceeded its mandate and failed to adhere to the standards required for investigative committees. At the end of the meeting, the committee showcased a documentary video, highlighting the crimes and violations committed by the rebel militias.
