Meeting of the Higher Committee for the Treatment and Care of Wounded and Injured from the Battle of Dignity in White Nile State

Dr. Al-Zain Saad Adam, the Director General and acting Minister of Health and Social Development, chaired the first meeting of the Higher Committee for the Treatment and Care of the Wounded and Injured from the Battle of Dignity in White Nile State. The meeting was held this afternoon at the government secretariat hall in Rabak, with the participation of Dr. Abdullah Abdul Karim, the governor's health affairs advisor, the state's Director of Health Insurance, and committee members.


The committee reviewed ongoing plans to provide medical care for the wounded, including coordinating with private sector institutions to perform surgeries and ensuring the provision of medical and nutritional supplies. Specialized subcommittees were formed to oversee field operations and maintain communication with the federal committee to secure support and necessary resources for surgeries, which will be provided from Port Sudan.


Dr. Al-Zain Saad Adam, the acting Minister of Health in White Nile State and head of the committee, highlighted that this first meeting brought together all health institutions and popular resistance committees to address the challenges faced by the wounded from the Battle of Dignity and explore possibilities for treating them within the state. He noted the positive cooperation from private health institutions.

He praised the efforts of the private sector in reducing surgery and diagnostic test fees for the injured by 50%. The meeting also reviewed the committee’s steps to provide ambulances for transporting the injured and identified healthcare service points equipped with all necessary supplies through the state government and the Ministry of Health. It was confirmed that health institutions in the state are ready to receive the wounded from the Battle of Dignity and provide treatment. In addition, ongoing efforts are being made to support the wounded with provisions in coordination with local community sectors, including the Chamber of Commerce and the popular resistance.


The meeting also commended the efforts of local executive directors in supporting the kitchens for the wounded in Kosti and Rabak. Dr. Al-Zain expressed his gratitude to all community members who stood by the injured and wished for a decisive victory for the armed forces in all battlefronts.
