Ambassador Al-Zafrani explained that the ship, named the Sudan Ship, is valued at approximately $2.105 million and carries 2,500 tons of relief, food, shelter, and medical aid, including 1,500 tons provided by the Kuwait Society for Relief and 500 tons from the Turkish Relief Agency. The ship comprises 150 containers of various relief materials and is considered the largest in terms of the quantity of aid sent by the Kuwait Society for Relief.

Ambassador Al-Zafrani also noted that aid from the Kuwait Society for Relief is ongoing via air transport. A plane loaded with 10 tons of tents and food aid for flood victims arrived yesterday and was handed over to the Humanitarian Aid Commission. This is the 14th plane within the second Kuwaiti air bridge, which was launched on August 14th and remains active.

The ambassador highlighted that the Kuwaiti aid ship is the third of its kind. The first ship, provided by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent, arrived in September. The second ship arrived in May, carrying medicines worth one million US dollars for cancer patients, provided by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in cooperation with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center. These efforts are part of the partnership programs implemented by Kuwaiti humanitarian organizations and societies to foster broader humanitarian cooperation and provide relief to victims of disasters and crises worldwide.

Ambassador Al-Zafrani affirmed the continued support of the State of Kuwait, under the wise leadership of its authorities, for the Sudanese people until they overcome their ordeal. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all official and popular entities in Kuwait for their tireless efforts to support the people of Sudan. He also expressed his appreciation for the facilitation and cooperation provided by all relevant Sudanese institutions, expressing his hope that this aid will help alleviate the suffering of the affected and his optimism for Sudan’s recovery from the challenges and crises it currently faces.
