The Electricity Administration, in a report presented to the Supreme Emergency and Crisis Management Committee of Khartoum State, led by Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza, confirmed the completion of maintenance work on substations and high-voltage lines that had caused scheduled power outages. With the maintenance now complete, the electricity supply is expected to stabilize.
The committee praised the dedication of workers in the electricity transmission and distribution sectors, who worked tirelessly for twenty days under extremely difficult conditions and with limited resources. Their accumulated expertise played a critical role in ensuring the service was maintained.
In addition, the meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to improve conditions in the Halfaia and North Bahri areas. These efforts include providing food support for soup kitchens, delivering health support and medical supplies, and continuing to restore electricity and water services.
The committee also agreed to continue cleaning efforts and intensify insecticide spraying campaigns to reduce malaria infections in the region.
