The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouq Nour Eldaim, stated that the number of visits to health insurance outlets in the first half of this year reached four and a half million. He also confirmed the increase in health insurance outlets to 807 during the same period.
Dr. Nour Eldaim revealed to journalists in Port Sudan the number of surgeries conducted under the insurance coverage in the first half of the year, which totaled 43,000 surgeries, in addition to the issuance of 4 million medical prescriptions.
The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund emphasized that insurance services were distributed fairly, especially in war-affected states, to citizens and displaced persons. This was achieved through coordination with local communities and organizations, as well as through camps and medical outreach days.
Dr. Nour Eldaim also announced the fund’s plan to implement a project to provide health insurance services to Sudanese refugees in Egypt.
