Commander Mini Arko Minawi, Governor of Darfur and President of the Sudan Liberation Army, reaffirmed Sudan's firm rejection of negative international and regional interventions during his meeting with a delegation from the African Union Peace and Security Council. He specifically highlighted the involvement of certain countries that have exacerbated the war by providing military support to the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Following the meeting in Port Sudan, Minawi issued a press statement explaining that the delegation delivered a message from the African Union Commission, which focused on efforts to achieve a ceasefire and a resolution based on a proposed roadmap.
Minawi stated, "We presented our proposed solution to the Sudanese problem, emphasizing that any resolution must align with the will of the Sudanese people and that international and regional parties should only support in finding the solution, without intervening."

The Governor of Darfur also conveyed, on behalf of the Sudanese government, especially the regional government, their perspective on how to end the war initiated by the RSF after the attempted coup on April 15, in collaboration with foreign countries and certain political activists.
In addition, Minawi provided details on the dire humanitarian situation caused by the RSF's siege of El Fasher, the closure of roads, and the looting of humanitarian aid convoys, even those arriving from beyond Sudan’s borders.
Minawi called on the delegation to lift the suspension of Sudan's membership in the African Union, stressing that Sudan is a rightful member of the African community and should not be excluded.
He concluded by noting the delegation's understanding of the issues raised during the meeting, confirming that Sudan should enjoy its membership, and reiterated that the solution lies in a comprehensive national dialogue that includes all stakeholders.
