Mr. Seif Al-Daw' Said Kuku, the General Commissioner of the Social Security Investment Authority and Chairman of the Agricultural Bank, affirmed the bank's readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of Sudan following the rebellion of the Rapid Support Forces against the state and the Sudanese Armed Forces. He made this statement during his chairmanship of the 26th regular general meeting of the board of directors today in Port Sudan, attended by representatives from the Central Bank of Sudan, the Khartoum Stock Exchange, the Deposit Guarantee Fund, the National Audit Office of the Government of Sudan, the commercial registrar, members of the board of directors, major shareholders, and the bank's executive management.
Seif Al-Daw' Kuku acknowledged the significant damage to the banking sector caused by the war but highlighted the resilience and determination of the bank's employees. He also expressed condolences for the souls of the martyrs in the Battle of Dignity, including three employees of the bank who lost their lives—one from the headquarters, one from the Al-Arab branch in Omdurman, and one from the Al-Maliq branch in Al-Jazeera State.
Additionally, Mr. Najm Al-Din Khalaf Allah Abdul Qadir, the General Manager of the Agricultural Bank, announced the bank's continued support for the winter agricultural season in several states, pointing to the growing partnership with farmers and retirees across Sudan.
Najm Al-Din mentioned that the Agricultural Bank was among the first banks to resume operations after the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2023, operating in 21 branches outside the capital, Khartoum, to serve its clients and those of other banks.
Furthermore, Dr. Ali Khalid Al-Fuwail, General Manager of the Khartoum Stock Exchange, praised the Agricultural Bank for being the second bank to hold its general assembly meeting twice since the outbreak of the war in April 2023, commending its board of directors and staff for their efforts.
