Arrangements in Northern State for Central Darfur students to sit for the postponed 2023 secondary school exams.

Dongola - The Governor of Northern State, Mr. Abidin Awadallah, met today in his office with the Governor of Central Darfur, Shartai Hussein Bakhit Yusuf, in the presence of the advisor to the Governor of Northern State, retired General Kamal Musa, the coordinator of the Governor of Darfur Region, Mayor Al-Tahir Hamidan, the Director-General of the Ministry of Education in the state, Mr. Al-Tijani Ibrahim, and the Director of Secondary Education in the state, Mr. Saif Al-Din Muhammad Awadallah.


The meeting discussed the arrangements for Central Darfur students to sit for the postponed 2023 secondary school exams in Northern State, after gathering those students from unsafe states. The Northern State Governor welcomed the visit of the Central Darfur Governor, confirming the provision of all possible facilities for Central Darfur students to take the secondary exams in the state, noting that more than 9,000 students from various states of Sudan have registered to sit for the secondary school exam in the state. The Governor also extended his congratulations to the Armed Forces and Joint Forces for their victories in Darfur's operational areas.

He added that further coordination meetings will be held soon between the Northern State government and the Governor of the Darfur Region to discuss issues of shared interest.

For his part, Central Darfur Governor Shartai Hussein Bakhit Yusuf pointed out that the coming period will witness coordination and follow-up between the Ministries of Education in both states to arrange logistical aspects such as accommodation, food, and transportation of Central Darfur students to Northern State.


He also expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Northern State for hosting the displaced people from Darfur and for opening pathways for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Darfur.
